Description

In a twist of fate, Axel finds himself trapped by an unexpected blizzard, forced to endure the company of his nemesis, who is also his assistant. As the snow piles up outside, the tension inside simmers just beneath the surface. Their history is fraught with rivalry and unresolved conflicts, making the situation even more unbearable.

As the days stretch on, the forced proximity begins to peel away the layers of their long-held grudges. In this isolated setting, they must confront not only their differences but also the undeniable chemistry that sparks between them. What starts as a bitter standoff slowly transforms into a journey of self-discovery, and with each passing moment, they begin to question the boundaries they have set for themselves.

3.75 starsThis ended up being a really cute romance, and while it didn't blow me away, I enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I would. I enjoyed delving into the publishing and professional reviewing industries and looking at the various challenges in each. While I liked Mia, I felt the most for Axel. I didn't like him at the beginning (which is partly why I deducted some stars) but I really felt for him, his situation and I appreciated how it was handled. I figured out the twist pretty quickly but I was still engaged with Axel and Mia's journey. The parts with Mr. Darcy the cat were some of my favourite and made me squeal out loud. I loved the glimspes of the small town and hope to get a bit more in the next book. Overall, this was a good read that kept me engaged. I loved all the, writing, book and trope talk. The chemistry felt real and the writing and heart within this book will keep you reading until the end. Thank you to the author and Grey's promotions for gifting me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
