5 stars⭐️“𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒉𝒊𝒈𝒉-𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒆, 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔, 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒂 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐.”𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐛Dolores Claiborne follows Dolores as she is interrogated for the death of Vera Donovan, her rich bedridden employer. With no choice left, Dolores confesses everything—she opens up about the past, her husband’s strange death, and all the darkest secrets linked to it.𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬This is my first Stephen King book and it was a roller coaster ride—a psychological thriller that’s presented as a one-long monologue. This unique storytelling style hooked me from the start.. in this we follow Dolores Claiborne, who recalls her life’s story to the police as she is interrogated for murder. A tough and determined woman who has endured a lot of hardships; this book gave an intricate look into Dolores's mind and the author bonds us with her emotions and life situations, profoundly. He invoked all kinds of emotions in me—anger, disgust, sadness, love, and more. The authentic voice of Dolores Claiborne was what made the book a hit for me.! She drew me in with her complexity and sincerity, even when she revealed the dark secrets of her past. Her love-hate relationship with Vera, her abusive marriage, and the mysterious events surrounding her husband's death years earlier, the intensity of it all was amazing!“…𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏. 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆'𝒔 𝒏𝒐 𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔.”There were times when I really disliked Vera, but then Dolores would show how Vera was just a sad, heartbroken woman trying to survive. The relationship between Dolores and Vera showed hostility but at the same time, a mutual dependency, adding depth to the story. I loove the way this book made me “dance to its tune”..🎵 Moreover, the atmospheric tension and the connection of events during the solar eclipse were very powerful. I found the symbolism of literal darkness mirroring the challenges in Dolores’s life, followed by the emergence of light and her life-changing (literally), incredibly apt.Plus, the exploration of a vast variety of themes—female empowerment, the ambiguity of justice, and complex family bonds—made it more profound and thought-provoking. The ending left me yearning for more; Dolores Claiborne felt like a part of my life, and connecting with her story left me with a sense of sadness. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐓𝐋;𝐃𝐑)Overall, this is an emotionally gripping and poignant novel that brings the environment to life with its vivid descriptions and profound connection to the characters. The unique narrative style and the complexity of situations make it extremely hard to put down—a must-read!
