Don Mattingly's Hitting Is Simple

Don Mattingly's credentials for writing an instruction book on batting .300 are securely established by his own .307 lifetime average. But, as veteran fans know, the longtime Yankee captain never rested on his quick reflexes or his laurels; during games, this avid student of hitting watched every pitch as if he himself was in the on-deck circle. His talents made him an ideal choice to be the Yankees batting coach, a position that he held until he was promoted to bench coach in 2006. Don Mattingly's Hitting Is Simple guides young players through the entire hitting choosing the right bat; perfecting your grip, stance, and swing; learning to read pitches and pitchers; understanding the strike zone and batting strategy; and more.
