Description
"Dope" is a late Edwardian British adventure novel with many secrets, mystery, investigations, and some portion of drama. It contains Scotland Yard detectives who have to solve the most difficult criminal riddles of the time, a beautiful actress suffering from drug addiction, and many villains hinting at the bitter reality of the street life of early 20th-century London. The novel is based on the story of Billie Carleton, a young English actress whose scandalous lifestyle ended with her death from a drug overdose in 1918.
