🖊 Persefone è la Dea della Primavera ma solo di nome, non riesce a far fiorire niente, anzi sotto il suo tocco ogni fiore appassisce. Vive tra gli umani a cui nasconde il suo essere una Dea, non una qualunque ma la figlia di Demetra. Una sera la sua amica Lexa la convince ad andare al Nevernight, il night club di proprietà di Ade. Pesefone sa che sua madre le ha detto di stare alla larga da tutti gli Dei, sopratutto dallo spietato Dio degli inferi. Ma cosa accadrà se l'innocente Persefone spingerà un patto con Ade?Da quando è stata pubblicata non ho fatto altro che sentire parlare di questa saga, approfittando di offerte varie nel corso degli anni ho acquistato l'intera saga, con l'idea di leggerla prima o poi. Questo primo volume sinceramente lo avevo iniziato diversi mesi fa in versione audiolibro, ma dato il mio complicato rapporto con gli audiolibri, l'avevo mollato, per poi riprenderlo in versione ebook. Ho un debole per i retelling e quindi ho voluto provarlo. La storia mi ha preso subito, tant'è che non ho capito il perché in passato non gli abbia mai dato una chance, anche se questo primo volume è interamente raccontato dal punto di vista di Persefone, ho amato anche il personaggio di Ade. Tutto il romanzo è ipnotico e cattura il lettore e lo trasporta nei luoghi del romanzo, immaginando le scene e provando ad immedesimarsi in lei. Ho amato tutto di questa storia tant'è che a distanza di mesi ancora lo ricordo vivamente come se lo avessi letto ieri.
3.75⭐this book was MESSYYY. I lived for the drama, I'm not gonna lie. Some things were definitely far fetched like the ending but I had a very fun time. Super bingeable and tandem reading it with A Game of Fate made it better so I recommend doing that since both books are super short!
I feel very disappointed in this book. It was hyped up so much that I expected a well written and devastatingly heart rending romance. What I got instead was willful misunderstanding and poor communication with a bit of smut for flavor.I've always enjoyed the Hades and Persephone myth, but this was a poor retelling. Persephone is irritating and refuses to listen to logic and reason, instead taking way too long to actually comprehend what Hades tells her about himself This isn't a cute or even healthy romance. I don't buy that they're in love and I certainly feel like Hades can do better. If you want an actually good retelling of this myth, read Neon Gods.
4.5 ⭐️Mother f... Hades, I can't anymore. The tension I knew from the beginning was that he was falling hard like really hard but didn't want to admit it. Love the writing style. It was a funny fast page tuner book. I'm going to read the rest of the series and OF COURSE HADES PIONT OF VIEW OF THE STORY.

4.25If there is one thing that I am a sucker for, It is a modern retelling of Hades and Persephone. I don't know exactly what this says about me personally, and frankly I don't care, because I love it! Although I did enjoy A touch of Darkness, I wouldn't say it was my favorite of the retellings, but that could change as I continue this series.What I really liked about Scarlett St. Clair's version is how she wrote both Hades. As someone who has always been a ride or die fan of Hades, and has often voiced my opinion on how he is misunderstood and is really one of the fairest of the Gods, I enjoyed how that came across the pages. Scarlett really painted Hades as a fair and compassionate God, who takes ruling the underworld seriously and wants the souls that are there, to be taken care of. Of course others can't know this about the Lord of the underworld, because he is supposed to be dark, mean, cunning, and wants to trick mortals for their souls. Hades is all but happy to let the rumors stand, but when Hades meets Persephone in his club Nevernight, all that might change once Persephone decides to write her next assignment about the elusive God. Persephone is the daughter of Demeter, although she has no powers of her own, her and her mom agree that Persephone can live and go to school in the mortal world, Demeter's only request, "Stay away from the Gods, especially Hades". So when Persephone comes face to face with Hades and unbeknownst becomes bond in a contract with him to create life in the underworld. But how can a goddess who only makes flowers wilt at her touch, create life in the underworld? Through this contract Persephone will come not only to find herself and her powers that have evaded her, but maybe even a love connection made by the Fates with Hades. Scarlett writes Persephone as a naïve, but a strong female fighting the darkness that she can feel inside of her. What I liked about her version of Persephone is that, Scarlett didn't write her as a weak love hungry struck goddess. This Persephone is rougher around the edges, is smart, focused, strong in her convictions of wanting to be more than just a kept princess. Persephone has this edge, this darkness in this version that she has to find a way to tap into and to harness if she is ever going to be free of her mother and have boundaries with Hades. Not a super deep book, but A Touch of Darkness offers an entertaining read, that will leave the reader blushing with curled toes. A Touch of Darkness sets up perfectly the net installment, which I will continue to see how Persephone and Hades do now that Demeter knows about them and the contract that Persephone is in.
I read this book without reading the description. I was drawn to the cover and had seen a few people recommend it. That being said I don't typically read "smutty" books but was sucked in The take on the Gods and Goddesses being more human in their business ventures etc.was interesting to me.It got a little repetitive and I wanted to have more of the legends woven into the plot. The supporting characters were shallow and at times you never know what happened to them after they were obviously put in danger.My biggest problem with this book is the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days plot twist. It fit oddly into the rest of the storyline. It wasn't clear what purpose it served other than to create more sexual tension between the 2 main characters which obviously wasn't needed.It was an easy short read and brought the idea of Greece's Gods and Goddesses into the modern age but without fleshing anything out (other than Hades' manhood).The editing was horrible with misspelling and hard to read sentences etc..I won't be reading the rest of the series.
I really enjoyed it. Even though it is a romance and i am not a big fan of romance the aspect of Greek mythology completed the story. The characters are all beautifully written.
Me ha encantado. Es justo lo que esperaba leer cuando vi que se trataba de un retelling del mito de Hades y Perséfone.Es adictivo y la protagonista me ha encantado. No esperaba que hubiese tantas escenas eróticas, pero no me ha molestado en absoluto.He disfrutado desde la primera hasta la última página, porque aunque es el inicio de una saga, su final no es tan abierto como me temía.
I really enjoyed this story Having them in current times is one of my favorite types of story with the Greek gods. This was fun to read and Hades is definitely drool worthy and heart fluttering to read. A spicy tale and I'm definitely excited to read the other two books
