Description

In a world brought to its knees by the apocalypse, the events unfold as a gruesome game show where survival is the ultimate prize. The protagonist, along with his ex-girlfriend's cat, finds himself thrust into a dark and twisted arena filled with unfathomable challenges and deadly adversaries. This rollercoaster of action and humor captures the struggles of navigating through perilous dungeons, all while seeking to uncover the truth behind this televised madness.

As they confront sinister creatures and mind-bending traps, the unlikely duo must rely on each other's wits and courage to escape. The story cleverly blends elements of a typical adventure with a satirical take on reality television, making for a gripping and entertaining read. With wit and bravery in his arsenal, the man’s journey through this dystopian nightmare proves not only a test of physical prowess but also a search for redemption and a chance at personal growth.

4 stars; this is officially the first book of my new shelf "Potato Chip books".I've read others like it, but this is the first one I'm making a shelf for. I initially thought it would be cringe, but I'm glad I tried it out and I now understand the hype for these books. You'll laugh, you'll appreciate the relationship between a man and his ex-girlfriend's purebred cat, and you'll tear through this book like I did.Dungeon Crawler Carl moves fast and for good reason: if you were on a battle royale gameshow, you wouldn't want to waste time either. I play video games (she's a gamer ^tm) and I did fast-forward through the paragraphs where Carl is explaining interfaces and his game experience because I've done too much of that myself in tutorials, but other than that I think my first LitRPG book went pretty well! Definitely interested in the next book :D
