Description

Easter at Tobruk takes the reader on a journey of life changing self discovery. Every family has secrets and a past the Delucca family is no exception. Rob, a young lawyer, becomes unsatisfied with life and the answers it provides when his long lost grandfather who was thought to have died in Tobruk appears on his doorstep one night. Jack wants Rob to try and remember something lost long ago, handing his war time diaries over to Rob. What follows are events and stories no one will believe, especially not Rob s mother Margaret or the local Priest. Using the diaries, Rob travels back in time to the battle of Tobruk. After being hit by a car, Rob starts to question the strange events that occured with Jack in the weeks leading up to the accident. Margaret begins to think her only son has gone insane, and enlists the help of the local Priest, to sort out what really happened during Easter at Tobruk. Margaret questions her belief in family and God, Rob wrestles with where he is heading in this life, and the Priest with his desire for Margaret and his true purpose. It is a race against disbelief, through the changing lives of three characters who are forever intertwined when they become affected by a war fought long ago. Readers of fiction, war time veterans, people interested in Australian and European war history will find a personal point of reference in the novel.
