Zodiac Academy: The Awakening by Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti grabbed me by the soul and refused to let go.I threw myself headfirst into Solaria and there was no coming back. This book was a full body experience. Magic, fate, pain, tension, obsession. I loved it. I’m already emotionally invested and slightly terrified because if book 1 owns my heart, what is the rest of the series going to do to me? 😭🔥Tory and Darcy. My girls. I LOVE them. Their bond, their strength, the way they’re thrown into this brutal, glittering world and still keep fighting. I need to know everything about their story. I have approximately one thousand unanswered questions and zero patience.The writing? Impeccable. Addictive. Smooth like a spell slipping under your skin. Absolute chef’s kiss. ✨📖And the heirs… listen. I hate them. Deeply. But also they are fascinating and complicated and I cannot stop thinking about them. Which is rude, honestly. I want to know more, even while glaring at the page.So yes. Someone explain to me how this book managed to be so good, but not the best at the same time. I swear I didn't expect to read it in a day like I did, but somehow I managed to do it. It reminds me of house of night exes way more ummm spice. It's got vamps and wolves and everything inbetween. It really isnt a bad read, but the writing style wasn't my favorite. I will definitely update with my feelings on characters after book 2. As of now though here's my take on our characters. Darcy- the more level headed shy twin I think. Tory- definitely the don't make me bite your head off twin. Orion-brudy grumpy professor who acts like a jerk to make people be scared of him. I like him though not sure why. Caleb-makes me have many questions Max- annoying friend who uses people for many ways. Darius- jerkwad who I don't trust at all. Seth- playboy who just hits on everyoneI like some of the others though. I don't trust Diego at all for some reason either.
