Description
Ready or not, the game has begun.
Genevieve Grimm has felt adrift ever since her sister became the head of the family. So when a mysterious friend of their mother's invites her to Italy, she accepts. She arrives at his grand palace, expecting passion and magic, decadence and luxury... perhaps even a midnight ball.
She doesn't expect the owner's ruthlessly handsome son to slam the door in her face. Rowin Silver is tall, dark, and exceptionally rude, and invitation or not, he demands Genevieve leave and never come back. But Genevieve follows nobody's orders, especially those of arrogant rich boys. She slips inside—and immediately discovers her mistake.
Rowin and his family are caught in an insidious game of hide and seek, where only one can win. The rest will be trapped in Hell... until the competition begins again.
Genevieve must either join the hunt or forfeit any hope of escaping. But to her dismay, her best chance of survival lies with Rowin. Since lovers may play as a pair, Rowin and Genevieve agree to form an alliance under the guise of a fake courtship. However, as they race through the game's elaborate labyrinth, trapped among gleaming gold and shining marble, their loathing gives way to irresistible attraction. Only Rowin is keeping secrets, especially when it comes to his ruthless family, and Genevieve can't help but wonder if she's trapped in two treacherous games: Enchantra and the one Rowin is playing with her heart.

View AllThis book whilst it’s good on it’s own, did not live up to the hype of Phantasma. If I had read these without knowing they were connected, I never would have assumed they were simply because they are so drastically different. It isn’t as good as Phantasma, I don’t think any book in this series will beat the first one. But it is definitely interesting to see how this book played out with Genevieve and Rowin. I don’t particularly like forced marriages as a plot, but this one played out so good and half the time, I forgot they were even married. I like all of the siblings, but between them all, Cage is defenitely my favorite with Sevin being a very close second. I would love to have a book on the both of them, including one of the other brothers, Covin, I think the name is. But I’m not sure how that would be set up. The different rounds between the siblings were a little bland in terms of violence, but when there was violence, it defenitely spiced things up a bit. However……I’m very curious to know the relationship between Tessa Grimm and the Rowin’s father. I would like to believe that Rowin’s father truly loves his mother, but with his dissapearance and lack of appearance in the book, it makes me wonder if he actually loved Tessa Grimm and now that he’s dissapeared, he’s looking for Ophelia and Genevieve’s father. I mean, think about it. Their mother is still sick and he just dissapears to leave his children to find a way to save her? I hope we learn more in the next book. And wonder who it’s going to be on next, especially since there seems to be an unresolved story plot between Salem and the Devil with the cat eyes from the first book.
Enchantra wasn’t a bad book, but it also didn’t feel particularly unique to me. If you’ve seen the movie Ready or Not, a lot of the core elements felt almost like a one-to-one comparison, just with some extra fantasy layers added on top.The romance followed a very similar pattern to the first book, which made it feel somewhat repetitive rather than fresh. Unfortunately, that made it clear to me that this series just isn’t really my kind of story. That said, I did enjoy parts of the book and I wasn’t bored while reading it. There just weren’t any real plot twists that surprised me, and most developments felt fairly predictable.Overall, I’m glad I read it and finished the series, but more out of closure than enthusiasm. A solid read if this is your genre, just not a standout for me.
-> 2.5 starsI didn't have super high hopes for this book. I had a great time when I read Phantasma but I have a personal dislike for interconnected standalones. I'm definitely more of a series lover. However, I had hoped this book would at least hold up to book 1 and it did not sadly, even if I enjoyed it.For the positives, I liked the premise, I was quite intrigued how the story and plot was going to play out, I adored that our MC was a curvy girl, that she had a sharp tongue and I loved seeing a bit more of her MC magic. I also adored the familiars. However, for the negatives, firstly I almost DNF'd this book instantly when I realized our love interest was a "shadow daddy". (I go into books blind so I didn't know beforehand either). I stuck through it under the premise that they were a family with a few having shadow powers. Though we only see the love interest use them. The pacing was bad but not horrible. The ending felt forced though. My actual biggest issue is the damn insta-love and insta-lust again. For this reason, I havent decided if I will be reading the 3rd book.-> 2.5 stars
