Ethan Stone is a private investigator that specializes in cases that are considered otherworldly. He uses his education in engineering to create gadgets that help him in his cases. His fascination with the occult and paranormal began at a young age when his family was killed by a mysterious cult. After their death, a local Voodoo Shaman, who was also a groundskeeper on his family’s estate, tookcare of young Ethan. He introduced him to voodoo but also to the netherworld of ghosts, demons, and other supernatural phenomenon. He used his inherited wealth to go to school and study religions, the occult, psychology and engineering. His education lead him to the police force but he never found the right fit. He found that becoming a private investigator allowed him to use all of his skills and focus on the paranormal.
