Three Tyneside girls, Helen, Pamela and Diane, for various reasons, are struggling in the areas hard hit 1930s recession. Determined to better themselves and improve their lives they head for London look for work. Once there they go their separate ways but before parting they agree to meet up every other Sunday at Peter Pans’ statue in Kensington Gardens.
