Description

In a delightful exploration of the holiday season, an Australian Christmas unfolds with its own unique charm, distinct from the traditional imagery often depicted in the Northern Hemisphere. The narrative captures the warmth and vibrancy of a Southern Hemisphere festive celebration, filled with sunny beaches, backyard barbecues, and a laid-back atmosphere.

As family members gather to mark the occasion, the story unveils a tapestry of secrets that each character carries. These secrets weave a complex web of relationships, intrigue, and unexpected revelations that challenge the familiarity of holiday traditions. The reader is invited to witness how these hidden truths come to light during the joyful chaos of Christmas gatherings.

Amidst the laughter and cheer, each character must confront their past and decide what the holiday truly means to them. Themes of love, forgiveness, and the power of honesty emerge, shining a light on the importance of connection during this magical time of year.

With its rich depiction of an Australian Christmas and its interlacing secrets, the narrative provides a refreshing perspective on family and the essence of celebration in the warmth of summer sun. The reader is left pondering their own secrets and the impact they have on the bonds we cherish most.

Reviews

If you're like me, you love Christmas books, but not always a romance novel. This book takes a mystery novel and throws it into the Christmas season. Which is a total win. As the main character points out in the book, a Christmas novel should always stand alone. That's one of the great things about this story. I've read the other two books related to this character, so I was excited to see where his story went for the holidays, but anyone could read it and understand what was going on. It's also a good length, as many of us have less time to read the Christmas stories we love. The advent calendar "chapter a day" format was a lot of fun, though I read the whole thing in one evening. It was a very clever murder mystery that stands in it's own even without the holiday theme. There were some real "lightbulb" moments that I had that I really liked.
