I went into this book thinking it would be okay but not my favorite because I dont like things that are set back in the day. I was completely surprised by how much I did in fact like it. It was awesome hearing Gigi's story but I wish there was more of it. H.D. Carlton is now one of my favorite authors after reading every book associated with the cat and mouse duet.
Best extra secret scene at the end, really gave the best last scene for addy and Zade but also proves Ronaldo and Gigi were meant to be. I loved the book and was so devastated there was no more.
When I found out this was a Cat and Mouse prequel, I was so happy. I was quite satisfied with the ending, still ending happily but with definite loose strings. But those who have read Haunting Adeline know exactly how that story ends and I'm kind of glad it didn't go all the way like that, leaving it up in the air to be finished in the official series, so, if you are starting with Phantom then moving to Haunting Adeline, you will be surprised by the ending of Ronaldo's and Gigi's story. But I have to say, I wasn't expecting a mafia man to be so candid. He was adorable while also being dark and twisted and I loved it.This can be enjoyed whether you have read Haunting Adeline or not but I am the type to prefer reading the prequel first before the main series so take that as you will.
5 fkn stars - i am obsessedH.D Carlton did it again and this book is honestly....chef's kiss!!Devoured this book so fast, I listened to this and the audio book was incredible! And Ronaldo had a FILTHY mouth and I was here for it!!
Gigis story is everything that I expected it to be. The heartbreak that she experiences is real for so many women.
