I have read every book ever written by Julie Garwood, and still her historical romance novels are my favorite. Generally her contemporary romance novels are fun and easy to read, not quite as funny as the historical romances she use to write. I need to vent about this book, the story line was fine, the hero was typically egotistical yet attentive BUT the heroine Cordelia (Cordie) Kane had so much potential and turned out to be a DOOR MAT. We've seen Cordie in other books, but somewhere along the line Ms Garwood turned her into a wimpy, with little backbone ... there are moments that gave me hope only to be disappointed. I generously give this book 3 stars.
