Description

Fibromyalgia, a disorder that causes aches and pains all over the body yet has no signs of any physical ailments, does, in fact, have a very long history. Chronic widespread pain had been described in the literature in the 19th century. Throughout history the symptoms of fibromyalgia had gone by several different names, however, it wasn't until 1976 that the term "fibromyalgia" was first used. In 1981, the term was first used in a scientific publication and then in 1987 fibromyalgia was final considered as a real physical condition by the American Medical Association (AMA).

So what is fibromyalgia? What are the symptoms? What causes fibromyalgia? How is fibromyalgia treated? Is it curable? These are all questions that anyone diagnosed with fibromyalgia immediately begins to ask. It is unfair that this silent enemy can get away with causing so much pain and harm, yet very little is known about it.

In Fighting for Freedom an attempt is made to try and address some of these questions, and several others, in order to help better understand what fibromyalgia is and how you can help to control it's ever-present symptoms. Fighting for Freedom will cover everything from traditional medications to natural alternatives, from exercise to dieting. There is currently no known cure for fibromyalgia, but with the proper help and guidance it is possible to continue to live a satisfactory life that is free from all the pain and depression often associated with it.
