Description
Even for forensic anthropologist Dr Tempe Brennan it is a disturbing sight. And now she must find answers before thousands arrive for the year's big race. But before she can carry out a proper examination, the FBI mysteriously confiscate and destroy the body.
It's a dead end. Until a young engineer alerts Tempe to the disappearance of his sister and her boyfriend from Charlotte twelve years earlier, and she determines to uncover what really happened to them.
Soon after, the engineer’s body is found crushed under the wheels of a race car. Tempe realises the situation is truly sinister - and that even her own life could be in terrible danger.

Reviews
View AllI'm not sure whether it's because I have read 2 Tempe books back to back, or what, but although I enjoyed the book and the plots were very interesting, the formula of the plot is getting a bit repetitive. But the thing is, I enjoy the way that Kathy Reich describes the scenario's Tempe ends up in, it's like a story with interesting nuggets of information on forensics, so I will always come back to read these stories whenever I come across them. The one good thing I found is it's not made much of an issue if I've skipped a few books in between, I've just read 206 bones then this one.But as other people have said in the reviews, Tempe would surely be dealing with some health issues after so many head and other injuries during 14 book's 😉.I've given this a 4 star because I have been glued to the book all day.If it was truly terrible, I'd not have finished it so fast.
Another Temperance Brennan story, this one revolves around car racing. Kathy Reichs provided lots of interesting history and information about Nascar and other racing circuits. 4 stars.
