Description

The rules were simple. Keep my hands off his daughter and stay out of trouble.

But now I’m stuck with her. There’s only one bed. And well, rules are made to be broken.

I’m the face of professional bull riding—the golden boy. Or at least I was, until it all blew up in my face. Now my agent says I have to clean up my image, so I’m stuck with his ball-busting daughter for the rest of the season as my “full-time supervision.”

But I don’t need a goddamn babysitter, especially one with skin-tight jeans, a sexy smirk, and a mouth she can’t stop running.

A mouth I can’t stop thinking about.

Because Summer isn’t just another conquest. She sees the man behind the mask, and she doesn’t run—she pulls me closer, even when she shouldn’t.

She says this means nothing.

I say this means everything.

She says there are boundaries we shouldn’t cross. That my reputation can’t take any more hits—and neither can her damaged heart.

I say I’m going to steal it anyway.

absolutely devoured this book the dynamic between the 2 characters was so Intriguing to me.

I can see why so many people like these books. The author did a remarkable job writing believable, complex characters with real flaws (despite the title) and a realistic portrayal of growth. I loved seeing the emotional vulnerability of both characters as they grew closer and dealt with different family dynamics. The boyish vulnerability and insecurities we see in Rhett’s POV, combined with his rugged exterior and country boy manners, was swoon-worthy. Some of the language and inner thoughts were a little crude for my taste and I enjoyed the first half much more than the second half when the steamy bits tried to take over, but overall I really enjoyed watching both characters’ journeys as they navigated their personal desires vs their professional responsibilities and what it meant to support each other.

This book took a while to win me over — like, around the 60% mark, I’d say. And it’s not one of those stories I fell head over heels for or anything, but it was good. What really bugged me at first were Rhett’s mannerisms; he acted like a pubescent teenager half the time. Honestly, there were several moments where his behavior just didn’t match his age, and that threw me off a lot. But eventually I started to like him and kinda let it slide. I also really liked the side characters and the overall vibe of the book.
