Description

Addison West is broken. Last year tragedy struck her family, destroying everything she loved. Now she’s trying desperately to pick up the pieces after her brother’s suicide, hiding her wounds behind piercings and a tough, aloof exterior. But she knows she’s fighting a losing battle. Sawyer Ridley is lost. After witnessing his teammate’s murder, he’s plagued by nightmares and panic attacks. With the nickname Riddles, Sawyer was always one for a joke, but he can’t find anything to laugh about anymore. He’s devastated, and not even football offers him comfort or solace. On the outside, Addison and Sawyer have nothing in common. But when they meet in group counseling, their shared grief immediately bonds them. As their relationship grows, the walls they’ve built around themselves begin to come down. But just as old wounds begin to heal, new, more painful ones emerge. Can Addison and Sawyer save each other from the grief that threatens to destroy them both?

4.5The emotional rollercoaster this book had me on was intense.I will start with the things I didn't like about this book first. Starting with the few chapters that the FMC, Lennon, was saying and doing things that were really pointless. They made me so annoyed at her character as they seemed to only be there for the purpose to annoy the reader, they had no baring on her character at that point in the book or even the plot. Thankfully it didn't last long. My other issue was the ending. I wasn't convinced that is something either character would do even when drunk. It felt out of place. That could have definitely been better. The positives, the character growth of the MMC, Jaxon, was perfect in my opinion. His reasoning for how he was made the most sense to me. His relationship with his cat, Mittens, was both adorable and hilarious. Toy Story themed party... That is all lol.The cute friendship between Jaxon and Sarah had me teary eyed it was so sad but also adorable.Jaxon finally seeing himself through his friends and Lennon was so emotional.Lennon and Jaxon's gradual build up of their relationship was so fun to see, they were perfect for each other and to see them both finally realise that was fantastic.Glad I finally read this instalment of this series, Jaxon is one of my favourites so far.
