Description

Sang Sorenson's life is a tumultuous blend of pain and resilience, shaped by her upbringing under an abusive mother. With her mother now undergoing treatment in a secure hospital, Sang grapples with the emotional fallout left in the wake of years of turmoil. The absence of her father, who has chosen to start anew with a different family, only deepens her sense of abandonment and loss.

As Sang navigates her complex emotions, she finds herself at a crossroads where forgiveness becomes both an elusive goal and a haunting obligation. The journey to reclaim her life forces her to confront her past, forcing her to sift through anger and betrayal to unearth the possibility of healing. Along the way, she discovers the power of empathy, not only for others but also for herself.

In a world that seems determined to keep her trapped in a cycle of pain, Sang’s quest for understanding and permission to move forward leads her to unexpected friendships and self-discovery. Through raw and poignant moments, her story illustrates the struggle to redefine family, acceptance, and, ultimately, the meaning of forgiveness.

Watching Sang finally escape the constant control and abuse of her parents should have felt like the end of her struggles, but this book beautifully shows that healing isn't that simple. Sang is free, but she's still learning how to trust, how to rely on others, and how to believe that she deserves to be cared for.And the boys... oh, the boys. 🥹❤️Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke, and North stepping up for Sang melted my heart. Every act of kindness, every moment of support, every promise to protect her made me love them even more. The found-family aspect of this series is what keeps me coming back, and this book delivered it perfectly. What I loved most was seeing the trust grow on both sides. Sang learning to lean on the boys, and the boys learning that Sang is stronger than they sometimes give her credit for. Their relationships felt deeper, more meaningful, and more real than ever before.Of course, it wouldn't be a Ghost Bird book without drama. The threats are getting bigger, the secrets more dangerous, and it feels like enemies are lurking around every corner. Just when I thought Sang could finally catch a break, the story raised the stakes yet again.
