View All*screaming sobbing crying* this was such an amazing ending to an amazing series and i was sobbing at the end of this book.i loved this ending!! the call backs to things that happened earlier in the series, especially during that final match toward the end!! i thought at a certain point that it was going to feel rushed, but it didn't at all!! i loved the way everything was done!! i loved the insight, in particular, into freyda's life!! i was miffed with lee at the beginning of the book because he was making choices again that annoyed me (frankly i'm shocked that annie stuck around with the horrible choices he kept making in regards to their relationship). i also got so annoyed with delo's whining. i just had no sympathy for him.the linework in this book series has been amazing all the way through. i'm not usually a fan of first person narratives, but the way this was written was beautiful nonetheless!! i loved how lyrical the wording was. it was astounding in the best sort of way and gave me a new appreciation for the first person perspective in writing.one of the few things that annoyed me was how, toward the beginning, annie was talking about how she felt with the way the people of the city of callipolis were treating her and how it had eroded her self-esteem and no one really apologized to her. i'm pretty sure he apologized at one point, but i wanted him to grovel a bit more. however, i was so proud of annie by the end, though her whole arc broke my heart. same with griff's tbh.this book was absolutely heartbreaking at times too. especially during That scene at the end of part 3. i loved how the narrative tries throughout the series to show sympathy toward the "villains" of the story. i particularly liked the descriptions of the widowing both in this book and the last one, which i think added to the depth of the characters who experieced it.overall, this was a beautiful end to a beautiful series and it left me in tears at the end because of how bittersweet it all was. i wish almost there was more, but this ending was prefect.
