Description

In a world stripped of color and hope, the story follows Kira, a young girl with a gift for weaving. She lives in a society that shuns those with disabilities and values conformity over creativity. As she grapples with her own limitations, Kira discovers a hidden strength within herself that could change the fate of her community.

Amidst a backdrop of oppression, Kira navigates a complex web of relationships with other marginalized characters, each facing their own struggles. Together, they challenge the oppressive norms that dictate their lives and begin to envision a brighter future. The narrative explores themes of resilience, artistry, and the importance of individuality.

As Kira's journey unfolds, she learns that the power of storytelling and imagination can transcend boundaries. The tale serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty that can emerge from darkness, urging readers to reflect on their own perceptions of strength and agency in the face of adversity.

I don't remember too much about reading this book. I vaguely remember a few small details. One thing I do definitely remember is that I did enjoy reading the book as always when it comes down to Lois Lowry.
