Description

Born as Temujin, a boy destined for greatness amidst the wild, untamed landscapes of Mongolia, this story follows the early years of Genghis Khan's remarkable journey. As the son of a khan, his formative experiences are steeped in the rich traditions of his people, intertwined with love, loss, and relentless ambition.

As he navigates the complexities of clan loyalties and the fierce struggles for power, the narrative delves into the heart of his character. Through vivid storytelling, it reveals how the seeds of an empire were sown in this challenging environment, setting the stage for a leader who would change the course of history forever.

A far better telling of the Genghis Khan story than the appalling 1965 film. You really feel for GK and family. I am coming to the end of Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles and looking for a new series. I reckon Mongolia/China is as far as it gets. My opinion: Iggulden is a worthy pretender to King Bernard.[bc:The Secret History of the Mongols|59785459|The Secret History of the Mongols|Christopher Atwood|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1667850189l/59785459._SY75_.jpg|94167770]A much better start.
