The journey was better than the destination. That ending and epilog were both anticlimactic and I could see sharp shift in Dora and Elias relationship which I dont typically like in romances but I thought they were really cute!
-> 4.5 starsI had so much hope for this book to be a 5 star, unfortunately the last 30% of book wasn't QUITE what I wanted. However! The book on a whole was nearly everything I could ask for. I recommend to literally everyone.I cant wait to read the next book-> 4.5 stars
I needed this. Words cannot describe the absolute joy I felt reading this book. When Theodora Ettings has a tragic encounter with a faerie at a young age, he steals half of her soul, leaving her unable to feel and process emotions the way other people do.Her cousin Vanessa is hell-bent on breaking this "curse," and during their stay in London, Theodora meets the Lord Sorcier, Elias Wilder, who under Vanessa's influence, offers to help with Dora's predicament. The two soon find themselves drawn to each other. This was such a fun and cozy read. I loved the Regency setting, the dialogue, the banter, the plot, the pacing, and the slow build-up to the romance—all of it was done perfectly, in my opinion. This book made me laugh, blush, and kick my feet in the air, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I love a romance where you’ve read more than half the book, and the protagonists have barely touched hands—like, YES! This book gave me exactly that. The only thing I wish had been different was that I would have loved for the book to dive deeper into the magic system and world-building. But other than that, this was a perfect, whimsical read for me, and I loved it.
