Heart crushing, soul destroying, gut stirring master piece.A lot to say and a lot to think about after this read, Very shocking and not for the faint of heart. Check for trigger warnings and don't eat while reading this one!!!!
"Heaven" by Mieko Kawakami left me with mixed feelings. The novel revolves around two kids who are both victims of bullying, and it delves into the harsh realities of this issue. While the portrayal of the bullying and the bully's perspective felt brutally honest and realistic, I struggled to connect with or comprehend the main characters.Their emotions and actions felt somewhat distant and difficult to grasp, making it hard for me to fully invest in their journey. As a result, I felt disconnected from the heart of the story.
