Reading like a cozy story with dark undertones, Hell for Hire stood out from my typical genres! The world I modern, but the lore runs deep- taking time for interpretation and being able to theorize based on context clues added to the enjoyment of this book, even not knowing the Epic of Gilgamesh
Real rating 4.5What a turn around. Book started as a low 1.5 star to the point almost dnf. After the 50 page mark though it got its footing and pace and went. Built up the world, rules, and forces we dealing with, and made us care for the characters. Ending neatly ties up our first story arc without a cliff hanger, the epilogue giving a small hint into what book 2 might bring.
