This had so much potential, a great premise and fantastic villain but just wasn't executed well. The main character was incredibly boring and nowhere near as intelligent as she thought she was. It was a very disappointing read, I'd been really looking forward to this but found it lacking a good plot and intriguing characters.
This dark and whimsical fantasy is a great mix of spooks and humor. The character personalities are dynamic, the twist and turns not easily recognizable, and the world has an interesting lore that is simple but intriguing. Nothing is ever as it seems.
I devoured this book. I absolutely love T. Kingfisher and this one is no different. I found the characters so intruiging and the story was creepy and interesting and kept me interested the whole time. Definitely a new favorite.
