Description

In a chance encounter on a train three years prior, Navy SEAL Griffin Porter and Miranda Sla… forged an unexpected connection that altered the course of their lives. As time passed, that fleeting moment lingered in their hearts, reminding them of a bond that transcended circumstances. Now, as their paths unexpectedly intersect once again, both are forced to confront the feelings and challenges they had previously left behind.

Griffin, a resolute warrior, has seen his share of battles and carries the weight of his past experiences. He finds himself torn between duty and desire when he reunites with Miranda, who embodies everything he has longed for yet deemed unattainable. Miranda, navigating her own personal struggles, grapples with the implications of their reconnection and the dreams she once had for herself.

As they navigate the complexities of their emotions against the backdrop of Griffin's demanding life, they must decide whether to embrace the potential of a shared future or retreat into the safety of their respective worlds. Their journey is one of introspection, courage, and the pursuit of love against all odds.

Protecting Hope was just the tip of the iceberg... Such a true statement. Well I'd already read Protecting Hope, which was published in Kindle World in Susan Stoker’s World, but Caitlyn has re written and developed the book from those events the horrific train crash. 3 years later and the Ghosts from Miranda's past rear their ugly heads and demand she betray her country. But I knew that her husband Griff and the Black Dawn SEAL team wouldn't let anything bad happen to Miranda. The story moves back and forth from the initial train wreck to the present time, 3 years later and Griff and Miranda are parents to a little girl who reminds me of my granddaughter. The story lets the reader see that even though it looks roay on the surface, both of them still haven't truly opened up about the accident. As we peel back the layers that Miranda hides her fears behind, we learn how her past is trying to ruin her perfect life. I loved the book, its kept me turning pages whenever I could grab a spare minute to read. There's suspense, action and romance and of course a HEA. someone gets what he deserves, and we get to catch up with a few other characters too. The book switches from past to future well, i didn't feel like what i was reading was boring because I'd already read it, more like I learned much much more about the situation and how it affected the survivors of the train wreck. Well written Ms O'Leary, can't wait to read the next book.

*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***This is the first 'Kindle World' book I have read, but I have loved Caitlyn's books since first finding her "Found" series. In this novella we have SEALs - oh my! I like nothing more than a military man.Navy SEAL Griffin Porter boards the train with his latest mission - a mission of getting a date with the lovely Miranda Slade. For 2 months he's been getting to know her and he plans on taking the next step by asking her out. Griffin's friend Wolf Steel and his wife Caroline also climb aboard at another station, so Griffin introduces the pair to Miranda, chatting while they travel, the men decide to get refreshments - and then all hell breaks loose...A thunderous crash leaves their rail car hanging over a cliff!Griff and Wolf are going to need their teams to help as their car is teetering over a cliff and the EMT's and Firetrucks will not get to it in time...This was action packed. The tension during the aftermath of the train wreck had me reading as fast as I could. Being a mum and grandmother, Hopes rescue was the most nail biting for me.
