Description

Lieutenant Max Hogan, a seasoned Navy SEAL, has dedicated his life to serving his country and protecting those he cares about. Among a team bonded by brotherhood, he often stands as the last single man, feeling the weight of his unfulfilled desires. While his comrades find love and stability, Max wrestles with his own emotions, grappling with feelings that seem out of place in his world of duty and discipline.

When he meets a captivating woman who challenges everything he thought he wanted, Max is torn between his instincts to protect and the urge to embrace a new kind of connection. Their chemistry is undeniable, but the path to love is fraught with complications, including the risks of his high-stakes career and the dangers that come with it. As their relationship deepens, Max faces a crucial decision—can he let someone into his heart without compromising the life he has chosen?

In the midst of action and heart-pounding mission scenarios, Max must navigate the complexities of love, loyalty, and fear. Will he have the courage to prioritize his heart or will his protective instincts push him away from the very thing he needs the most? Through the trials of romance and the challenges of military life, Max’s journey is one of bravery, vulnerability, and the search for true connection.

This is a standalone story of the Night Storm Series which I love, The stories are a continuation of the journey of the Night Storm SEALS who find love while not expecting it. Theres action (although this story is mostly based when Max is on leave)What I liked about this book was Max's honour and presence in dealing with a situation he was never trained to deal with (an unexpected dad of a young boy). I found that the scenes which were dealing with such a situation with death, young children and the stresses that both adults and children go through were thoughtfully written. The relationship between Max and Hannah really pulls at the heartstrings. Caitlyn O'Leary has a great writing style, Romance, Action and Humour... Hannah's mum was hilarious but also Lovely and reminded me of my mother in law.IF you have not read any of this series - this would be a good one to start as there isnt much to spoil the other SEAL Teams books... but they are one of my favourite series.
