View All*** this review is voluntarily given, although the Author sent me an advanced copy, I was not forced or paid to review***David Sloane is an Army investigator, sent to retrieve two of his own who have been framed by the corrupt police of Las Flores, he makes a good impression with the honest government employees, when a major earthquake hits and he has to dive in to lead the rescueDoctors without borders and former army nurse Sarah Kyle is a woman David has never forgotten, They met once before but the timing sucked, when David organises the manhunt to capture the convicts that escaped during the earthquake, they both realise that their feelings for each other haven't changed. When the convicts hold an American doctor for ransom, the Navy SEAL unit Black Dawn is called in. (I have read the Black Dawn book which is about Carts too) Dr. Carys Adams is Sarah's friend and colleague they work together to save her friend and the other doctors captured. The story was a further look into the devastation of an earthquake in a poor country brings, the humanity and corruption that it brings to light. and Ms. O'Leary brings the characters and the situation to life with her words. I'd love to see one of her books made into a film or tv series.
