Description
Olde Heuvelt, along with translator Nancy Forest-Flier, masterfully crafts an unsettling tale that intertwines folklore with modern-day anxieties. With a gripping narrative that explores the consequences of ignorance and fear, the story delves into how a tight-knit community grapples with the weight of its collective guilt. As terror grips the town, they must decide whether to cling to their traditions or break free from the shackles of their past.

View AllI really really enjoyed reading this book for school, it was so interesting and thrilling. I love how the ending is foreshadowed and how philosophical it is. What happens to a village when they can't leave and are threatened by something that really isn't hurting them, but it feels like it is. I really recommend it!
