View AllThis was my first ever taste of Manga....and I loved it! It was so cute, i kept wanted Haruna to admit who she was in love with!
High school Debut Art: Hard shojo almost like cactus secret compared to the shiny eyed soft look of say vampire knight. Your basic hard shojo lines with little to no bight and shiny eyes. The art is well done but very common The girl Haruna almost look similar to the girl in beast master however not bad but doesn't stand out as a “known” style such as CLAMP. In other words if you took a page from this manga and four more pages from some other shojo manga this would blend in but you would be able to pick CLAMPS out in a nano second C+Characters: Haruna, Yoh. Haruna is almost your basic shojo heroin boy crazy, naive, and sometimes down right stupid. But unlike your basic shojo heroin Haruna is sporty, and determined to do her best and isn't a side line girl she really does try. Yoh however is your basic shojo boy stand offish, blunt, honest, a girl magnet with a “tragic” background of some kind which means he is “ really sweet and kind hearted once you get to know him” However despite him being a walking stereotype he is swoon worthy as well as squee inducing. The side characters are great with the basic friend characters letting the two MC's play off each other as well as the side characters a basic fun comic romance type of characters C+Story: Haruna is a girl who now in high school has made it her goal to get a boyfriend since all though middle school she was tomboyish and sporty. She asks Yoh to be her coach in love and how to be more girly since as a blunt honesty guy he knows what guys look for in girls. The one condition that she does not fall for him. Cliché, sweet, typical shojo manga a blend of comedy and romance with bumps and fights along the way. While the story is in no way common it's also doesn't stand out the idea is different and even helpful for those who want a boyfriend themselves but have no clue what to do. At the same time though it feels like every other shojo plot out there and if you read enough fluff you know what will happen in the end anyway. This was a fast entertaining read with swoon worthy guys, fun characters and believable (although sometimes convenient) plot scenes and twists this is a story that will have you begging for book two with the to be continued it leaves you with. A light fluffy afternoon or rainy day read that will have you looking for your own love coach B+Cover: More light pink with the back ground in person and the colors look like a deeper pastel then the lighter version online. Haruna and Yoh making the heart symbol with their fingers haruna with a big smile on her face and yho looking like he was dragged into this. This is a well known shojo the cover eye catching but not very outstanding or unique in a sea of shojo manga it isn't that light and fluffy however so cookie points for that. B Rating: T for teen Company: Shojo beat My rating : 4 of 5 I tore though this manga I loved it and am going to continue this series to expect a big larch in books on my TBR shelf While the story isn't anything new and didn't give me much for review (shojo manga rarely do) this was a great read and I'm glad I finally tried it (a friend recommend it to me but it wasn't till good reads recommend it to me that I gave it) a fun fast read
