A contemporary, non fantasy reimagining of Peter Pan where Hook gets the girl? I was so excited about the premise of this! As with any retelling or reimagining, I love finding those little nods to the original and I felt like they were cleverly done in this book, given there wasn’t anything magical or fantastical with the contemporary setting. However, I didn’t really care for either of our MCs and both their romance and the entire plot felt rushed. There was so much potential but I feel like a lot of the story was ignored just to focus on the smut.

From USA Today bestselling author Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Peter Pan. He wants revenge, but he wants her more…

As I was a bit in a reading slump I decided to start Hooked as it was much anticipated and it was on my TBR way to long. As I love fairytales, I decided I needed to read this. To be honest the book started a bit slow for me and I was still in a reading slump it took me a bit of time to get into the book. But the moment I let myself drift away in this story it was absolutely amazing. I love the references to the Peter Pan story, the names, places etc. I think Emily really hit the mark with this as I found it really enjoyable to see some references back to the fairytale. The character building of this book was amazing and the details of the different places were amazing. The fact that this story had so many twists and turns like Jon being James brother, the fact that a lot of people you didn’t even suspected were going behind James his back, and just overall it caused me to gape and scream at my book! I cannot wait to read the other books in this series because this started off right!

I loved this book! It was fast paced, addicting, easy to read, and the smut was *chefs kiss*.While I loved this book and enjoyed reading it, it was definitely missing some stuff. The plot wasn't as flushed out as I wanted. There were little bits of information I wanted to know. Definitely fine without it but I like all my ends tied up. Also the "i love yous" could have been dragged out a little longer, like to the end of the book. The plot was a bit predictable sadly but good never the less.Do recommend!

Hooked by Emily McIntire"The greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life was to love you, Wendy, darling.” Let me start this by saying I did not expect to like this book. I am not a fan of retellings, and I'm not a fan of Hook. But this book blew me out of the water. Emily McIntire has such a way with words, and she draws you into this little universe she's created and leaves you wanting more. I did not want this book to end. This book is a dark romance, that does have a HEA. Some themes may be hard for some readers. I like to go in blind and some of the scenes were

I absolutely loved this book. The plot twist was real. I never expected Moira and Smee to be enemies or for Jon to be James brother.

Every time I picked up the book I never wanted to put it down. It's very intriguing, and you don't know what's going to happen next.
