Description

In a world where societal expectations and romantic aspirations intertwine, Miss Eastwick finds herself navigating the unpredictable waters of high society. A letter arrives bearing astonishing news, pulling her deeper into a scandal involving the enigmatic Lord Pemberly and his enigmatic valet. Shadows of intrigue dance around her as she contemplates her future in a society that seems poised to judge her every move.

As rumors swirl and relationships become tangled, Miss Eastwick's determination to secure her own destiny intensifies. She must charm and outwit those around her, drawing on her wit and intelligence to ascend the ranks of the aristocracy. With a marquis of marble in her sights—a man whose heart may be as cold as his name suggests—she embarks on a daring quest filled with laughter, tension, and unexpected alliances.

Amidst the elegance of lavish balls and whispered secrets, Miss Eastwick discovers that true love may not conform to the rigid structures of her society. Instead, it offers a chance for authenticity and passion in a world steeped in pretense. Each step she takes leads her closer to understanding not just the art of marriage, but the essence of her own heart's desires.

It was fine. I did like the fact that there wasn't an info dump on how monsters became normal citizens of society. It felt as if it had been hundreds of years, but also somewhat new, at least to the FMC as she seemed to have very little knowledge on some things. I didn't like how the author tended to flashback to something that happened off page chapters ago without really indicating that it was a flashback, there was at least one time that I felt the chapters must have been put out of order before I realized it was supposed to be a flashback. It really didn't make any sense for it to be a flashback when it could have just gone where it needed to be instead of telling us after the fact. Almost all the flashbacks were like this. It seemed quite unnecessary.Otherwise, it was a fun romp and had a good plot, but nothing deep or emotional.
