Description
As tensions mount and playful banter turns into something deeper, she grapples with the realization that her initial aversion might just be a smokescreen for her growing attraction. Between the rivalry on the ice and the simmering chemistry off the rink, both must confront their feelings and decide if their connection is worth the risk.
With humor and heart, the tale unfolds against the backdrop of hockey culture, loyalty, and the complicated nature of friendship as love battles hate in the most unexpected ways.
Reviews
View All3.5 starsI'm generally a big fan of Helena's, although unfortunately, this book was a hit or miss for me depending on the chapter. What I liked: - The banter for the most part - The friendships and side stories kept me interested - The angst and tension - at the beginning - The smut was spicy spicy- The tropes- That it was set in the Toronto areaWhat I liked less:- The number of smut scenes. I'm a romance girlie and I like smut just like everyone else, but I felt that there were too many scenes and that while they had chemistry, the smut was over the top sometimes and hindered the character development - When the banter turned particularly mean/childish- Too much miscommunication- Flip: I liked him at first, but found him to be tiring by the endOverall, this was not my favourite romance, but if you like smut that's extra spicy, enemies to lovers and brother's best friend, this might be right up your alley. Thank you to Good Girls PR and Helena Hunting for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was done and waiting for the resolution at -ish halfway - the rest was not necessary IMO
