View AllThis is my second time reading this book and while I do love it, it is a little frustrating that so many of their problems can be fixed by just talking to each other. However, due to Kyler's nature, Sydney finds it hard to trust in his words when his actions basically say the opposite of what he is telling her sometimes. That ends up being the third act conflict between them. You find out that Kyler is in love with Sydney, which I would say is obvious by how he views her and his instant hate of anyone who flirts with her. But, because he thinks she deserves better than him, he tries to distract himself and forget about her by sleeping around with other women. But that leads to him being a pretty bad friend throughout their high school years, ditching Sydney to get laid. He does recognize this flaw in his judgement and make amends. In his way, I guess.Over all, it's a cute story but the lack of communication between the main characters might be annoying to some people. But if you know JLA's style of writing, you shouldn't be too bothered by it. It is a common situation/trope she uses, lack of communication that leads to misunderstandings.
Another NA novel by the wonderful Jennifer L Armentrout. This book I found a little… different. Maybe because there's kind of tension about something that's going on in the book and you~and you kind of don't get it right, because it's not really into the main characters' closure, but rather into the main character's past. Maybe because 70% is set inside a cabin where they're trapped in the snowstorm, I'm not used to mostly single-place lyres. However, none of this was negative. It was my first contemporary romance book written by Jennifer L Armentrout and I just knew I would like it, well I wasn't wrong. I loved the protagonist, I would have a crush on him if he were real. The main character… I identified with her a lot of times, but I also found her a bit irritating at others, so I'm not sure what to say about her. This book is an adult contemporary novel, so it has very explicit language and scenes. It is also a Friends to Lovers, to be more specific a Best Friends to Lovers. I enjoy this trope, but hey, there are a lot of people who think it's boring, so better make it clear here in the review, although this is expensive in the book's synopsis too. But if you're into a novel and looking for something quick to read, I recommend this book. I will read any book Jennifer writes because she never lets me down.
