:star::star::star::star::star: 5/5 STARSIt Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover was exactly what I needed after It Ends With Us. :face_holding_back_tears::blue_heart:After everything Lily went through, getting to see her finally have the chance to build a life with Atlas made me SO happy. She deserved the opportunity to experience love without constantly being afraid of what would happen next. And ATLAS??? :face_holding_back_tears:I loved getting to know him more in this book. Seeing his perspective and learning more about his past made me understand him so much better. The way he cared for Lily and Emmy and wanted to give them a safe, loving home was everything.Lily finally choosing herself and choosing a healthier future for herself and her daughter was one of my favorite parts. She didn't owe Ryle another chance just because he was Emmy's father. And Ryle… :neutral_face:The way he tried to insert himself back into Lily's life and act like he could still have a say in her relationship with Atlas made me so frustrated. Lily had already made her choice, and he needed to respect it.BUT THAT ENDING?! :sob:Lily and Atlas getting married and having their little family together?? After EVERYTHING they had been through?? My hopeless-romantic heart was HAPPY. :face_holding_back_tears::blue_heart:And Emmy being surrounded by love and finally getting the kind of family environment she deserved made the ending even more beautiful.I also loved seeing Lily and Atlas communicate and actually work through things instead of allowing misunderstandings to destroy what they were building. This book gave me healing, hope, love, frustration, and SO many emotions. After everything Lily survived, seeing her finally get her happy ending with Atlas felt like watching her finally breathe again.:star: Rating: 5/5:thought_balloon: Mood: emotional • relieved • hopeful • angry • happy • hopelessly romantic:book: Lily deserved her happy ending. Atlas deserved his too. And I'm SO glad they found it together. :blue_heart:Atlas is my new book boyfriend 😊😅
