While this book wouldn't be described as exciting, it was still a captivating book. Mr. Powell gathers his past personal interactions with others and is able to weave them into many leadership learning points. He was able to convey the importance of taking responsibility for one's actions as well as bringing up the next generation. He provides plenty of examples of how ordinary Americans can inspire others to be great leaders as well as providing examples of how amazing everyday Americans can be.Marines: Leaders need to take some time to read this book. I found the audiobook version to be fantastic as it's Colin Powell who reads the novel. His insights on being a leader are quite thorough and simple. Some of the concepts you may have already learned, but he also instills his own personal experiences and wisdom behind his leadership principles. I think any leader needs to take some time to read and dissect this book.
