Description

In a world where magic is intricately tied to the powerful jade that fuels the superhuman abilities of its wielders, the Kaul siblings find themselves engulfed in escalating tensions and fierce rivalries. As the struggle for dominance intensifies between warring clans, the stakes are higher than ever, threatening not just their family's legacy but the very fabric of their society.

As the consequences of past decisions ripple through their lives, Jade War delves deep into the personal and political struggles that shape the Kauls. Loyalty and betrayal blur the lines of friendship and kinship, leaving them to question what they are willing to sacrifice for power and survival. Each member of the family grapples with their own ambitions and allegiances, torn between tradition and the desire for change.

The fierce battles that ensue are not merely physical; they are battles of wits, strategy, and moral dilemmas that challenge each character's core beliefs. As alliances shift and enemies are forged in unexpected ways, the bonds of family are tested to their limits.

Fonda Lee masterfully weaves together a narrative that is rich in world-building and character development, creating an immersive experience that resonates with themes of identity, resilience, and the complexity of human relationships. The pulse-pounding tension keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eager to discover who will emerge victorious in this intricate dance of power and ambition.

Definitely didn't like Shae in this one, only a few actions she made did I like. But Hilo really grew on me. A great second book!

This is an excellent followup to an already great book. The growth that is displayed by all the characters especially Hilo is outstanding all while leaving them very recognizable. The political manoeuvres that are done by both clans to expand their interests on a more legitimate level is not for the faint of heart. The beginning of these threads as well as the ones from book one will leave you anticipating the conclusion of this saga on pins and needles.
