John, Waldo and Henrietta

What happens when an inveterate bachelor safely ensconced on the sidelines of life meets a social worker deeply committed to her wards? What happens to his concept of a nuclear family consisting of two cats? What happens to his jaundice attitude toward people when he experiences her involvement to those who have no one else to whom to turn.
