Volke Savan, a gravedigger by trade, dreams of a life filled with adventure and magic beyond the confines of his mundane existence. He longs to join the ranks of heroes who sail the seas, embrace the arcane, and confront the shadows that threaten his world. I want to like this. The idea and the magic is unique, but the writing was just so rough. Idk what i didnt even like, but just something about the authors cadence just killed jt for me. And also volke is just whiney, annoying, and naive. Feels like hes like 13 and approaches problems in the same way. Every interaction felt like an awkard homeschool kid that never socialized before. Unsure if ill come back and finish the series
