Commune Editions is very pleased to publish an excerpt from an ongoing translation, by Julie Carr and Jennifer Pap, of Leslie Kaplan’s important poem, Excess—The Factory, based on her experiences as an établie in Lyon (she started work at the factory in April 1968). Whatever our feelings about établissement and French Maoism here at Commune Editions (they aren’t positive), we think the book is incredible, and expect you will too.
