Description

In a small town where secrets fester beneath the surface, the story follows a young woman grappling with an unbearable burden. Haunted by the memory of a fateful night, she is faced with the terrifying possibility that she might have been responsible for her best friend's death. As the walls close in and suspicion mounts, the protagonist is forced to confront not only her shattered memories but also the judgments cast by her peers.

Navigating a web of grief and guilt, she tries to piece together the fragmented night that changed everything. In her search for truth, she encounters an array of personalities, each with their own motives and secrets. The tension escalates as she digs deeper, revealing hidden layers of betrayal that complicate her understanding of friendship and loyalty.

With every twist and turn, the line between reality and deception blurs, leaving her to question her sanity. As she battles her inner demons, the protagonist strives to uncover the truth, but doing so may lead to even darker revelations about those closest to her.

The journey is one of self-discovery and resolve, where she learns that sometimes the most profound lies are the ones we tell ourselves. Amid heartbreak and confusion, she must find a way to forgive, heal, and ultimately seek redemption in a world where trust is a fragile illusion.

This book surpassed my expectations. Not only was it an amazing mystery and thriller, but it also touched on a very important subject: People always believing a man's side of the story before a woman's. I'm pretty happy with how things turned out, though in the beginning I was skeptical on whether I should even keep trying with this book because it started off kinda slow. The mc's decisions (and that voice in her head, before the reveal) did piss me off a few times, but at the same time, I KIND OF get where she was coming from. There were a few other things that weren't extremely realistic, still. And that many semi smut scenes were not needed. But bonus points for the fun grandma.
