View AllIts been a hot minute since I read the other 2 books in this series, however I could never forget the whimsy that Atwater writes. There are a lot of reasons to love this book. The characters from the previous book made appearances in it, the murder mystery aspect, the LGBT rep, Atwater writing and magical world she created. I think I will definitely pick up future books from her.I was however, sadly let down that this story didn't attach itself to my soul like the first one did. I found myself waiting for previous characters to appear on the page again. This is a fantasy x historical romance and unfortunately the romance didn't grab me in this one. However, our FMC deciding not to ever die, such a vibe.
It was a little hard to get started with this book, but then I devoured it. Though I guessed the twist pretty early on, it was a fun story and I loved our main crew. Definitely a fun and unique twist on fairy tales.
