Jake Westin was just fired from his head chef job at the most prestigious restaurant in Detroit. The last thing he needs is to adopt the stray mutt that showed up on his porch in the middle of a rainstorm. But he does anyway, because Jake’s that kind of guy.

Natalie Yarrow is wholly focused on putting the finishing touches on the soon-to-open café she just purchased. The final, and most important step – hiring a cook – is proving to be the most difficult.

When an adorable mutt named Gumbo joins her on her morning jog, never in her wildest imagination does she expect to end up in his owner’s bed. When she learns Jake used to be the head chef at the fanciest restaurant in town, she figures this relationship will go nowhere fast.
