Description

The brothers are back-the latest installment in J. R. Ward's sizzling #1"New York Times" bestselling series.
J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels have introduced readers to a "different, creative, dark, violent, and flat-out amazing" ("All About Romance)"world. Now, as the vampire warriors defend their race against their slayers, one male's loyalty to the Brotherhood will be tested-and his dangerous mixed blood revealed...
Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood-even though his sister is married to a member, for he harbors a deadly secret that could make him a huge liability in their war against the lessers. As plots within and outside of the Brotherhood threaten to reveal the truth about Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in his darkening world, Ehlena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him-and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

BDB's seventh book competes a lot with Love Awakened. I JUST LOVED IT. Unlike the previous book in this one, even though there were many povs too, it wasn't overloaded with information, despite bringing important twists to the story. Rehv and Ehlena had a lot of chemistry, the build was one of the best and for sure they are in the first place along with Z and Bella. As a couple, Rehv and Ehlena as characters have also become one of my favourites. Ehlena sure had the best background of all the books I've read so far. And I fell in love with Rehv. In previous books I kind of didn't know how I felt about him, sometimes I liked it and sometimes I didn't. But that has definitely changed, and I would love to see more of them in the next few books. I also enjoyed seeing more of Wrath and Beth, I feel it was important for them to have this further development as a couple and so looking forward to reading The King as their lives are going through a lot of changes. I loved Xhex and I have to be honest to say I caught some of John's anger. He's a very complex character and he's been explored since the Z book, but in this book, he started to piss me off, and before that, I didn't feel that way about him. Not to mention that I didn't feel much chemistry between the two. Lover Mine is the next book and I really hope I like it as a lot of people praise it. Hopefully, my opinion of the couple and John will change for the better.
