Reviews
I read a lot of people's reviews saying how much they loved the book and the series. I felt that by the end of the book everything was a chaos because everything was going on at the same time. The plot twist was predictable and I saw it coming. To be completely honest I like Nehemia more than Celaena. I just kind of felt a bit underwhelmed due to how many great things people were saying, however I will still continue reading this series and see how it goes.
Ive been anticipating this read for a hot minute since I finished ACOTAR series.I enjoyed this book! The plot started from the jump and I have trust issues with characters already!
This book definitely is a YA through and through. The hints about her past from the (The assassins blade) flow through the book well but also leave some questions for the readers. I definitely took my time reading this book feeling bored a little but I would think that was due to it being a YA book with little excitement for the competitions most of them seemed to be like an in and out hints of what happened instead of a full immersive experience. The story was good for a first book in the series but definitely could have moved a bit faster. Having 55 chapters of a slow paced story had me putting it down for a while. The love triangle for the main character is a fun twist but also seemed meh at some points. Hopefully the series lives up to its TikTok hype.
I just knew it would get me out of a reading slump. How beautiful it is to want read again. After reading Throne of Glass for the first time, I've been searching for stories that would provide me the same feeling and pure anticipation of whats next. Throne of glass is really that girl
Names are not important. It's what lies inside of you that matters. My review of this book might change as I continue with the seriesI LOVE a strong FMC, and Celaena is everything I could want in one. Despite her young age, she has endured so much and continues to rise stronger every time. She might be my favorite FMC so far! That said, I didn't enjoy the "love triangle" that much. It was clear from the start that she wouldn’t end up with either man, so the back-and-forth felt unnecessarily drawn out. There was more focus on one, despite what the other also did for Celaena, yet I couldn’t truly see her with either of them. I think I'm just not a fan of love triangles—or maybe I'm still caught up on you know who and wish they had more time. I did enjoy, however, getting to learn more about Dorian and Chaol and seeing their friendship with Celaena grow. My absolute favorite friendship was Celaena and Nehemia, though! Knowing what I know from The Assassin's Blade, it was lovely to see their bond grow. I'm really hoping for more of this in the later books!Overall, the pacing wasn't too fast or too slow. It was somewhere in the middle, which was perfect. The world-building was incredible, and I liked that Throne of Glass leans more into the fantasy elements rather than being romance-heavy. I started with The Assassin's Blade in my reading order, but this was a great start to the main story!03/17/2025: My reviews of the Throne of Glass series- The Assassin's Blade- Crown of Midnight- Heir of Fire
I absolutely love this bookI've had a physical copy of this book for years that I got as a gift I think. I recently borrowed an ebook version from the library just recently. I regret so much only now finally reading this book. It's taking me such a long time to get back into reading and this is the first book that isn't a mercy thompson novel that I've been able to finish so quickly. I'm absolutely thrilled to read the rest of the series.
