As the story delves deeper into the intricacies of trade and power, characters are faced with choices that will shape their destinies. The intricate weaving of personal ambitions and sea-bound adventures brings forward a rich tapestry of emotions and challenges.

Amidst the trials, profound connections between the characters emerge, highlighting themes of loyalty and sacrifice. The liveships, sentient vessels crafted from rare wood, become pivotal in navigating both the treacherous waters and the tumult of human relationships. Their profound influence on sailors and traders alike serves as a constant reminder of the intertwined fates of those who dare to explore the depths of both the sea and their own souls.

As alliances are tested and new foes emerge, the stakes rise dramatically. Characters must confront their pasts and face the consequences of their choices, creating a tension that keeps readers engaged. Hobb masterfully builds a world where magic and mystery permeate daily life, complicating the struggles of the protagonists.

Drawing the reader in with vivid prose and intricate world-building, the narrative captivates with twists and turns that redefine the meaning of courage and flight. Against the backdrop of vast oceans and intricate maritime politics, the journey is rich with discovery, not just of treasure, but of self.

The Liveship Traders saga moves on. More politics, action and the minor characters step up to the plate. Am I the only one who loves the driven nature of Malta? Good Grief! Tunnels, mud, looking like she been dragged through a s**t pile backwards SHE still gives the Satrap tons of attitude. (When you read what happens to her to-be husband Reyn she should not worry). Keffria, Winthorp, Althea. Everyone gets a chance. Hobb squeezes all this into 906 pages but not a page is wasted. Book 3 is coming.
