Description

Coalfax County, in the mountains of Southern Virginia, boasts the deepest caverns in the world, but Coalfax is infested with abnormally large and voracious green flies whose bites expose the population to typhus infection. The County Board, in an attempt to save their tourist industry, requests the intervention of the Federal Department of Agriculture. Meanwhile, Andrew Cooper, Ph.D., also known as “Insect Andy,” the host of the popular Saturday morning television show, “Planet Bug,” is sent by his producers to Coalfax to film a show about the green fly infestation. The Department of Agriculture hires Genotex, a high-tech biological company, to solve Coalfax’s green fly problem. Genotex has recently discovered a way to mutate insects to grow beyond their normal dimensions. The idea is to mutate a natural predator of the flies, Praying Mantis, to twice their normal size.
