"Morbidly Yours" has been on my TBR since last fall, and I was very excited to pick it up as soon as the weather started to get autumn-y this year. Thankfully, the year-long wait was worth it! I really enjoyed this book and the narrators were great.The dual POV novel follows Callum, an Irish undertaker working hard to keep his family business, and Lark, a Texan traumatized by the loss of her spouse. Lark runs off to Ireland to get away from the tragedy haunting her back home and meets her new neighbor Callum via a hilarious meet-cute. Lark has sworn off future relationships due to the circumstances of her husband's death. In stark opposition, due to a clause in his grandfather's will, Callum needs to marry within the next few months. If he can't find a wife he'll lose the mortuary business that's been in his family for generations. The romance and yearning between Callum and Lark was spectacular, but their friendship and subtle caretaking really made this book special. There's also a great cast of side characters. The author did a great job making the heavy topic of death feel approachable and at times even funny. I found myself laughing several times while listening to the book."Morbidly Yours" is the first book in the "Love in Galway" series. I will probably pick up the next book in the series later this fall.
