Description
The Great War robbed sisters Kitty and Lily Cortland of a brother. The Influenza pandemic that followed took their father and completely upended their lives with their mother on Chicago's far North side. Nineteen year old Kitty feels responsible for seeing to the needs of her younger sister and the girls' bereft mother, but she has no idea how she will manage. Then a chance encounter brings a temporary solution that starts the two girls on a path that will change the sisters, and their lives, in ways neither could ever have imagined.
